"The War Between Men & Women" Movie Review

108. The War Between Men and Women

This is a tour de force for a man who had so many, Jack Lemmon.

Herein he plays a James Thurber (who is rapidly losing his sight) in the midst of romantic intanglements that are at moments histerically funny, and then touching.

It takes a step up from the two dimensional comedies it is often lumped with, plus there is the inclusion of Thurber animations to move the plot along, in a way that can only be called charming. It is hard to find a film that more perfectly samples its time.

Here is the cast:
Jack Lemmon . . .  Peter Edward Wilson
Barbara Harris . . .  Theresa Alice Kozlenko
 Jason Robards . . .  Stephen Kozlenko
 Herb Edelman . . .  Howard Mann
 Lisa Gerritsen . . .  Linda Kozlenko
 Moosie Drier . . .  David Kozlenko
 Severn Darden . . .  Dr. Harris

It could easily be called a "Chick Flick from a Man's Point of View" and everyone comes out better for having seen it.
